This piece at first was alluring for the out of focus background, in focus foreground. As the piece evolved it became clearer that it had taken on a new meaning and become a metaphor for long distance relationships. Focusing on what is always immediately in front of you but always looking off, in the distance, waiting for the next moment you'll be together. As with all my paintings, it is signed, gallery wrapped, the sides are painted, it's wired and ready to hang.
